Well, I am finally getting a chance to play FFVII thanks to the PSN store and all. Now I have played part of all the main series games except XI (which unless they make an offline version, I probably won't ever play) I'm quite early into the game, but it is quite good. Not 'best game EVAR' good, but 'a pretty good FF game' good. ... I actually kinda like Cait Sith. Something about him I just like. Maybe it's the fact that he's a cat riding a giant stuffed Moogle. |

I have a somewhat inflated opinion of FFVII, since it's one of the first RPGs I ever owned. Quick spoiler: Spoiler: click to toggle But, um, really, I... don't think it's actually possible to spoil anything about this game. I think the whole thing probably falls into It Was His Sled territory. |

Unless you've played Crisis Core, pretty much anything about Spoiler: click to toggle is probably a spoiler.

Okey-dokey... just got past the point where... y'know... that girl gets knifed. Poor girl. Of course, the impact is lessened by the fact that, y'know, everyone knows what happened. I'm more distressed over who'll make up my party now that she's gone (I used her for most of Disc 1 for this reason... though Cloud, Tifa, and Cid, what I'm using now, is turning out to be decent) Right now, I'd rank this around the middle in my FF ratings list (nothing beats the SNES trio for me), but seeing as I'm only at the beginning of Disc 2, it's still a bit too early make a final judgment. |

Yeah, losing her was annoying more than anything, because she is far better suited to casting than any other party member (as far as I know; Cait Sith might be a master magician or something, but he'll never be in my party), so I had to work around that. My party ended up being Cloud, Vincent, and Yuffie. Sometimes I wish you could take Cloud out of the party later, like you could with Crono. |

Cloud-Vincent-Yuffie was my team for most of the game as well, although Tifa's Limit Breaks are fun to use. Limit Breaks aside, though, it's Yuffie. As far as just beating on things, Vincent and Barret are the best options, since they both get long-range weapons that can have a theoretically infinite attack power. ("You filled your weapon with nothing but "All" Materia?" "I don't have "Underwater" yet.") |
