Main Site Redesign

We're a small community based on Super Smash Bros. Brawl. We have a ranking system, but it doesn't matter.

That's right, the rankings are like the Wii Remote Jacket: nobody cares.

If you're seeing this, that means you're a guest, which means you either haven't signed up or you haven't signed in. Unfortunately, we've had to disable guest posting, so if you want to contribute to our community, you'll need to have an account. If you make a new account with us, you'll be limited to posting in the Beginners forum. Once you make just one post there, you'll become a full-fledged member, and you can post wherever (and almost whatever) you want.

We look forward to brawling with you!

I have a week, so this is going to move fast, so if you have any ideas, speak up now!

Posts: 763 Group: Brawler Member #25 Joined: February 22, 2008 Friend Code 0430-8044-5243	I'm only working on the main site, not the skins on the forum. :B I didn't sleep much last night, so here's a rendering (made in photoshop, so there's no coding yet) of what the site will look like: http://interactive.mica.edu/im200_01/smorrissey01/GSF/render.jpg There's still some room in the left and right columns for maybe some more character graphics or whatever else you kids can think of. The central column will have a liquid width (it will expand with the window) while the outside columns will have set widths. Boring explanation of design decisions: Spoiler: click to toggle The green and blue colors have been with GSF since the start, and as they are radically different from other sites like All Is Brawl, Smashboards, etc, I figured they'd be worth keeping. I fiddled with the exact shades a bit to make them less pastel-like and more... masculine I suppose is the word. I also took Doob's original logo and remade it with Illustrator's 3D capabilities. The new "media" button is only because I'm required to have a flash slide viewer in the project, so I'll nab some screenshots from that topic. We can either keep that or not, doesn't matter to me. Bring on your comments, critiques, and impossible demands.

"Media" can actually stay, as we're planning to do a bit of professional borrowing from AllisBrawl and start hosting vids and screenshots. This is really good. I'm curious about that box under the Smash Ball in the logo. What is that? Edit: I also like the "Join us" image. Much better than what we had before (well, all of it's better than what we had before...) Edit again: Dabuz, a Tales skin is an interesting idea. It's not very recognizable is it? I'll see what I can do about that. I've started coding ~~and with any amount of luck I'll be done by Thursday.~~ I had some issues crop up with another project, so it won't be Thursday now.
