It's great to have an new old-school Mega Man game. They quite literally don't make games like this anymore... I really applaud whoever thought of doing it in the NES Style. One thing, though... I can live without the Charge Shot, but where's my Slide?! |

I'm actually the other way around. I can do without sliding, but I sorely miss charge shots. It's weird, though, there seems to be an item you have to slide to reach in Plug Man's stage. Also, Splash Woman. The first-ever Robot Mistress. |

Well, I heard that one of the RM Weapons can reach things like that. I've heard that some of the weapons are considered among the best in the series... I actually started playing with the GB games... but still, it's just like old times... jump the wrong way, and you fall into a spike pit... Which makes you wonder... why doesn't Dr. Wily just create Spike Man? |

The keyword, Zeke, is 'close'. Being pricked by a needle is a lot different than falling into a spike trap. |

Well, the first batch of DLC has been released today, including Proto Man Mode. And guess what... he has both the Charge Shot and the slide! On the downside, he takes more damage, is knocked back more, and can't access the shop. And yet, on the plus side, he has his shield when jumping, the jet from the start, and of course, his trademark whistle. |

I purchased both the Endless Mode and Protoman Mode. I gotta say, Protoman Mode is not worth it. Really. The game is just fine with only Mega Man. The Endless Mode, on the other hand, is incredible. It's quite challenging while still being really addictive, and it was worth the three dollars I had to pay for it. |

*Does the Proto Man whistle and teleports in* NO!!!!! Don't listen to him! He's a Wily robot! The Endless stage might seem fun, but if you play it, you're letting Wily win. See, the Endless stage is, well, endless. You'll never get out unless you die. Have you seen the big 'W' when passing the Robot Masters? It's Wily's doing, I tell you. It's his ultimate plan to get rid of you, Mega Man, once and for all. Of course, then, if you DO die, then Dr. Light will have to buy Proto Man mode and let me, Proto Man, avenge you by taking down Wily. Sure, I take more damage, and I'm too much of a badass to access the shop, but it doesn't matter, since that's how REAL robots play the game. ... but do as you will. You'll be sorry if you don't heed my advice. *Teleports out* |

Nah... Still not sorry. Loving Endless and hardly playing Protoman. |

Well, I just played through the main game again, and it's true what they say; it's always hardest the first time. I did much better this time around, especially since I knew the boss order (my tip: start with Galaxy Man, then go in order of boss weaknesses) I completed a lot of challenges this time around, including Hard Rock, Blue Bomber, Almost Invincible, World Warrior, the time-completed ones, and all the Quick Draws except for Galaxy Man's. |

Completed it a third time, and got a few more Challenges, including Heavy Metal, Quick Draw G, Trusty Sidearm, and Double Trouble. I'm going to play it tomorrow (which also happens to be Thanksgiving in Canada, FYI) to get Daily Dose. One thing I noted is that Proto Man Mode is actually a great way to get better at the regular game. In Proto Man mode, you can't make as many mistakes, due to double damage and lack of a shop, so it really sharpens your skills. Speaking of that, I actually got all the way to Wily before finally losing in Proto Man Mode; so close... |

Fifth time completed! This time I did a full helmetless run; I got the Headbanging and Invincible challenges due to it. The key is to keep a full stock of items for Wily's Castle. Proto Man Mode really helped me prepare for that one, two. I've gotten 72% of the challenges. This game is really fun; I'd honestly forgotten how effing fun a classic Mega Man game is. Can't wait for the new Time Attack stage; second (and possibly final) batch of DLC is out on Monday! |

In case you haven't heard... Mega Man 10 is in the works! And no, it's not Mega Man X. PROTO MAN IS A NORMALLY PLAYABLE CHARACTER IN IT!!!! |

That... should probably be its own topic, but I'm not sure I care enough about keeping the forum in order to do anything about that. Anyway, if it's playable on PSP, I'll probably get it; downloading new WiiWare would be a bit more trouble than I consider it strictly worth. |
