There wasn't a topic for these two up until now. So, this is the topic for the boys from Mother. I was upset when I thought Ness was going to be gone, but I'm really glad he's back. I like their playstyle, but I don't know which of the two I could use as one of my backups. BTW, where the heck is PK Rockin' and PK Love? That's like having Mario with the Super Jump Punch, or Bowser without his Fire Breath... |

I have no idea what those two PKs are, but I do know that I'm glad Ness hasn't changed. He's still got the bat of destruction, his PK Fire is even better now, and I still find using PK Flash in the middle of a fray is super special awesome XD |

Ah... PK Rockin' is Ness's signature attack in Earthbound. The name of the attack actually depends on what you name as your 'favourite thing' at the beginning of the game (for example, I had 'PK Gaming', but Rockin' is the main default name. Many people expected it to be his Final Smash (since, like his specials with the exception of Flash, Ness doesn't use PK Starstorm). Same deal with Lucas, only his is 'PK Love'. They're basically the same attack, just different names. Anyways, yeah, those are the main things I like about Ness (plus, I've played Earthbound but not Mother 3). Lucas I like the fact he has a easier PK Thunder to use, better Up and Down Smashes, and he has a tether recovery. And both of them have at least one nice alt. colour (Lucas has his 'Claus' outfit with the orange hair, Ness has the M.r Saturn T-shirt and the white stripeless t-shirt) |

I like Lucas... but I never really got into Ness. It's kind of odd since they are virtually the same but I find Lucas to be a bit faster and a bit stronger. He also seems one heck of a lot easier to use, or maybe that's just me. |

I swear, you used that phrase in this topic on purpose. Anyway, Jin, Lucas and Ness are not virtually the same. Lucas's smashes, especially usmash, pack a lot more power; he has a ranged grab and tether recovery; his PK Fire is different; and his aerials are different (I don't remember them enough to be specific). One of my favorite things to do with Ness is hit an opponent with PK Fiyah, run in and grab him/her, then do my down throw for more PK Fiyah. >.> From there, the combo possibilities are many. |

Oh, no, that can't be right... Now, while you're right on the up and down smashes, Bat >>> Stick. You can't deny the awesomeness of the bat. Hmm... Ness has better aerials, stronger throws, a combo PK Fire, PK Flash is stronger than Freeze, the PK Thunder Missile as a strong finisher, a Mr. Saturn T-Shirt, and the BAT. Lucas has better up and down smashes, a faster runner, PK Freeze is faster than Flash, an easier to use PK Thunder, a Claus colouring, and the ROPE SNAKE. Hmm... maybe I'll alternate between them to decide who I like better. |

Ness's PK Fire can hurt him, the stick is actually more powerful or maybe I'm just better with Lucas, Lucas definitely has better up and down smashes, Ness's aerials are definitely better though. Maybe I'm just Biased <_< |

Hmm... well, after playing for awhile, I've decided to take Ness as my sub (he and ICs are my main subs). I just like his moves better, and I've gotten the hang of PK Thunder. Oh, and my friend Phil uses Lucas as his main already. |

Ah, PK Fross... Well, I've found two good uses for it: - Attacking a person trying to recover - Harming a person who is coming from above The second one I utilized in my Notta match against Necrode. At one point, there were a bunch of traps in the center of the stage. I had projectiles and he, as Marth, didn't, so he had no choice but to jump over and attack me from above. So, I hit him with a PK Flash. It didn't KO him, but it dealt nice damage and stopped his assault on me. Ness, keep it up, and you might become Main #6 for me. |

Hmm... it turns out I haven't gotten the hang of PK Thunder. In both my Notta match against Nec and a practice match against BS, I was doing quite well, but lost since I messed up PK Thunder recovery. That's pretty much my only flaw with playing Ness right now. |

Actually... I think I've got it now. I practiced PK Thunder in Training, and then I decided to use Zelda and Ness in Classic Mode on Hard, to see who I was better with (IMO, I did better with Ness). I managed to do two difficult recoveries with PK Thunder, one from the bottom of Final Destination! After that, I can now properly use Ness. BTW, his Raise the Roof (aka up-tilt) is awesome, especially on Giant characters. |

... y'know, I've said before that Lucas had better Up and Down Smashes, but... Those yo-yos are AMAZING. You can utilize them to such a great degree. They protect you, great for combos, and deal decent damage to boot. Ness is just great. >_> How the heck did I go through 2 games without maining Ness? Nowadays, I couldn't see NOT using him as one of my mains. |

After those matches with Vyse, I`m reaffirmed of Ness`s awesomeness (no pun intended). Seriously, he has some great moves. Heck, I don`t think Ness even has a truly useless move; both of us have been able to use everything he can do effectively. To anyone who is considering taking up a new character, try Ness. He`s great. ... what? Why am I saying this about Ness and not PT? Because only I can main PT. PT is my character; you can`t have him! |
