We're a small community based on Super Smash Bros. Brawl. We have a ranking system, but it doesn't matter.

That's right, the rankings are like the Wii Remote Jacket: nobody cares.

If you're seeing this, that means you're a guest, which means you either haven't signed up or you haven't signed in. Unfortunately, we've had to disable guest posting, so if you want to contribute to our community, you'll need to have an account. If you make a new account with us, you'll be limited to posting in the Beginners forum. Once you make just one post there, you'll become a full-fledged member, and you can post wherever (and almost whatever) you want.

We look forward to brawling with you!

In the magical land of Dungeonia, there are many dungeons (and dargens). A lot of people like to explore these things, because it's fun/profitable/fun/fuck you all. So here we are.

You guys find yourself in front of a gate. The gate appears to be ornately decorated.

[Now, here's what's going to make it a tutorial. At the end of each of my posts, I'll give you a list of a few options you can do. By no means are you limited to this, but they'll be the most common you would do. Or at least what I could think of.]
- Search the door (requires a d20 (20-sided dice. Link to dice roller at end of post))
- Try and open it
- See if it's locked

Dice Roller

And Zeke, no powergaming. =)

If I stick my head through the bars, would that cause some sort of alignment penalty or something?

Too small for that unless you're a gnome. Or a spirit. Or a corndog.

I got a twenty (I think) on the d20. What does that do?

I'm guessing the higher the number, the better the outcome?

Polt, are you part of the D&D campaign, too?

And 20 is the best thing you can roll.

Anyways, I will search the gate...

I rolled an 8.

Uh, Polt...you're not in the campaign.

SD: Upon searching, you realize this is a gate.

Options!
- Pretty much the same. You could re-search it.

I'll try opening the gate.

Surprise! Arrow trap.

Zeke takes 2 damage, but the gate's open. The corridor you see is 10 feet wide and goes down about 20 feet before splitting off both ways. Torches light the way for whatever reason.

Options:
- Go down the hallway. 'Bout it.

I wanna check one of the torches and see if I can take it. Never know when a torch'll come in handy. Rolled a 17, if I need a roll for that.

You now possess a torch. It's just picking something up, so no roll needed.

I'd like to pick up a torch as well, but throw it down the hallway (with no specific area in mind) to see if anything happens.

The torch rolls down the corridor. Its flame dies.

I have a lantern and some oil. I'd like to light my lantern to see ahead. Do I need to equip it?

Yeah, you do.

In that case, I'll put away my shield and equip my lantern, and light it with oil so I can see down the corridor.

You can see down the corridor no better than you could earlier.

(There are torches, remember.)

S'pose I'll try to walk down the corridor then... cautiously. If I get as far as the torch I threw, I'll pick it back up.

You get down to the crossways. On the way you reach the torch and pick it up.

You have concluded there are no traps in the corridor.

Options:
- Go left or right.
- Leave (in which case I DM kill you all 'cuz then I have to make an outside)

Ah, right, the torches... I'll put out my lantern and put it away, and re-equip my shield.

... Hmm... I'll try taking a look at the left side.

The path left goes down about 15 feet then turns to the right. Aside from that, nothing of interest.

Options:
- Go the other way
- Go down and right

Well I'll have a look at the right side then.

This corridor goes down about forty feet and has two doors on the left and one on the right.

I know this is going to end badly, but I'll go down the corridor to the right and listen at each door to see if I can hear anything on the other side. Can I do both now, or do I have to wait for your response to the first before I move on to the second? Either way, I listen at the left door first. (I rolled twice already, an 18 and a 13 in that order.)
