GSF is trailing badly. The board is slow, the tournaments are taking forever, and the flow of new members has pretty much stagnated. That's not good. The second problem is easy to take care of. Once the Patriot and the GSF Championship tourneys are done, we're going to be a lot tougher on our tournaments. I'll elaborate when the time comes. The other two problems are significantly harder to overcome. Now, while Zeke and I could come up with ideas and try them out all on our own, we also made a promise when GSF was first created. We promised to let you, the members, have a role in how the site grew and developed. That is why, at 7 PM (Central) on Thursday, July 24, the IRC channel will become a forum of sorts. Go there, give us your ideas, comment on others' ideas, etc. I just have one request: don't go if you don't actually care about improving GSF. Some topics to think about... - New things to do with the main site - Ways to attract members - Ways to keep members - New tournament ideas - Advertising methods - Anything else you think the site could use/need See you there! (P.S.: I picked that time because I'm going out of town for two weeks on the 25th. I'll have internet access, but I don't know how often I'll be able to use it. Well, I don't think the boards are trailing THAT badly... but yes, we could use a bit more, as well as some new members. While we do have a nice amount of people here, we could always have more. I'll make sure to be there for that chat. Not sure how many ideas I have, but I'd like to be there. |

Your suggestion was character guides, I believe. Or maybe it was Alablast's... Pretty sure it was you, though. Character guides, with two people who are proficient with that character contributing. And yeah, 7 CST = 8 EST. And it's 6 Mountain and 5 PST. |

1. I'm not sure where you're getting the -5 from. If your time zone is "GMT -5," then that would put the forum at 8 PM your time. 2. Yes. |

Actually... it is possible to go on IRC with the wii. It's just... annoying. I used to be Yoshi, Zelda, and Ice Climbers champ there (before my European vacation). I could easily take the Yoshi title back, but I don't know about the others. By the way, I've also done well in All is Brawl and I've mentioned GSF here and there, but I'm not sure what else I should do... |

Okay, I'd like to propose something. I'm sure our ranking system would be a bit more effective if we updated it just a bit more often. You can't find the time, you say? Well, we have refs. Changing the page only means changing numbers in the html, which is EASY PEACHY for anyone to do. Password to site? Just copy the HTML, put it into a file, and send it to all refs, or the refs can just pick someone to do it. Regardless, to help smooth things along, refs should help out with compiling all of the necessary data to help the main person (should there be one) edit the HTML to send to Zeke or Vyse. Vyse shouldn't be the only one counting up wins and such by himself on some random evening where he has free time. Yes, we're more of a community than a competitive brawling site, but some of us just like to test ourselves as well, you know. It also helps people know who the heck has titles and such for when the challenges come. And refs need work to do anyways, considering they aren't really necessary anymore (See: Brawl's online is not the best out there.). So yeah, someone read this and tell me it's a good idea, cuz I want an ego boost. |
