i gave up on any good 3d sonic games after shadow the hedgehog was a 50$ waste, except for secret rings, but, this...this just*shivers* looks disgustingly bad
Shadow Sucked So Bad. It Was Nothing Like Sonic. I Was So Dissapointed :'(

*ahem*

It's Flying Battery Zone.

And yeah, it's definitely my favorite. It's quite fast. The only slow parts are the moving platform elements, and there's about... oh... two of those. They last about five seconds each.

Also, the first level of Sonic and Knuckles is pretty much a speed contest. You can dash through the whole thing, and the only times you have to stop are to get on the scale mushrooms to bounce higher, as well as when you get trapped in coils and spin dash out. Spin dash. Quickly.

Hell, even the first boss fight against Robotnik in that game involved you running to the right and dodging spiked barriers. It was excellent.

Again. It was called Shadow the Hedgehog. Two ENTIRELY DIFFERENT GAMES. It wasn't called "Sonic Adventure 3: Shadow." Geez.

And concerning Sonic and the Secret Rings... Now that's a slow game. It gets faster toward the end parts though, thankfully.

Drift, I Think We Can All Agree That We Expected It To Be A Heck Of A Lot More Similar To "Sonic" Than It Was. ^o)

I didn't. It's called SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG.

Dammit, this is an example of how I hate people.

No one has common sense anymore.

That game was called SONIC ADVENTURE 2. It wasn't Sonic Adventure 2: Shadow. It was Sonic Adventure 2. Shadow the Hedgehog wasn't Sonic Adventure 3: Shadow. It was just Shadow. They had an entirely new approach. Even if one didn't like it due to lack of speed, it was never INTENDED to have crazy amounts of speed. They leave the speed to Sonic. Hence the game not being called Sonic.

As they meant it to be in Sonic Adventure 2. Hence the title SONIC ADVENTURE 2. They wanted to introduce this new clone of Sonic. A clone of Sonic has to be fast.

Shadow the Hedgehog IS NOT Sonic Adventure 2. As such, it developed the character anew. If they had wanted to just have more of Shadow running and less on his background, they'd have made Sonic Adventure 3: Shadow. But they didn't. They made Shadow the Hedgehog to introduce the character again. They wanted a new approach. That's why it's not a Sonic game. It's a SHADOW GAME.

Shadow Is Technically Not A Clone Of Sonic. If Sonic Were Alive He'd Be At Your House Kicking Your Butt By Now.

Sonic Pissed -> :sonic:

Oh? So that's why he has the exact same missions as Sonic in Sonic Adventure 2?

Look at it from a gaming perspective, seeing as you're the one criticizing Shadow the Hedgehog. The developers made Shadow to be the same as Sonic, just in dark form. And frankly, if you're just thinking in a personal preference bias from your point of view, you have no reason to be here arguing. I'm looking at it from a perspective respectful to the the creators of two entirely different games.

Did I say stories? No. I said missions.

And yeah, they did have similar ones. I'm starting to think you didn't even play the game.

The HP bars of the enemies hit by the punches were zero. That's why the Sonic turns away from them. They were still there because the scene switches before they poof.

If you mean Marble Zone, then you could do the same thing except for the two parts where you're riding on a block and lava is supposed to push you up towards the ledge. There's also another part that requires a lava push, but you can jump from the beginning of the part (after touching the moving block to make it move) to each of the "barriers" that you would jump over to land on the block again. Except you wouldn't need the block until the last barrier, because then you get the lava push.
Does that change the important thing? No. Were-Sonic gameplay still looks boring.

You seem to have forgotten the numerous sequences with the spiky platforms, pushing blocks to hold down switches, etc. But, as Drift has pointed out, the classic "run and hold right" WORKS. Shadow the Hedgehog proved that slow, "kill all the enemies" gameplay DOESN'T.
