It looked pretty good until the part where he transformed. ... then it looked epic. I might actually buy this. Looks like it might actually be on par with SA2. |

Not really digging that song, and the sequences with Were-Sonic (whatever that form is called) don't look very... fun. =/ This gameplay trailer, though, looks excellent. Edited by Memento Mori, Jul 16 2008, 02:45 PM.

Boy, that Were...Wolf... Sonic... thing... looks absolutely dreadful to play. I want this game for an adrenaline filled speed frenzy, not for Shadow the Hedgehog 2: Now With Claws. |

The Sonic sections look fantastic, but the Were-Sonic... er... I'm keeping my hopes high, but my expectations moderate. I don't want to be disappointed again after Sonic 2006. That game was just horrible... *shiver* At the very least, Sonic and the Secret Rings was good once you got past the beginning. |

Not seeing what's really wrong with the Beast form. If the entire game was RUN AROUND AT SUPER SONIC SPEEDS, it would be boring. Although, if it had a snowboarding level, I'd totally say this game tops everything. Haven't had a decent snow level since Ice Cap zone in Sonic Adventure. |

I Happen To Like Running Around At SuperSpeed... That "Dark Sonic" Seems To Convert All Of Sonic's Speed Into Stregnth... That's Like The Opposite Of Sonic... Doesn't Seem That Exciting...

Yeah, it wasn't "blinding speed" at all. It looked pretty dull, unlike the gameplay trailer I linked (which is all regular Sonic). |

i gave up on any good 3d sonic games after shadow the hedgehog was a 50$ waste, except for secret rings, but, this...this just*shivers* looks disgustingly bad

He's Sonic. It should be all super sonic speed running. After all, the original games proved that that's the formula for success.
That's why it was called Shadow the Hedgehog and not Sonic the Hedgehog. I still don't see why people can't understand that it was meant to be a completely new and different game from the Sonic series.
...I can find nothing wrong with Sonic Adventure 2. Everything about it rocked to me... With that in mind, this looks promising. If it's anything like Sonic Rush, it should be worth the buy. |

At 1:44 of the vid, he punches the enemies 10-12 times in just that split second. Did YOU GUYS watch the video? And the original games were not entirely about speed except Sonic 1, where you literally held right on the D-pad and jumped when necessary. If you say Sonic 3 & Knuckles was nothing but speed, you obviously don't remember places like the first stage in the S&K stages (Mushroom something, dun remember), or even your beloved Sky Battery Zone. ...And the enemies are still there. It's boring combat, no matter what flashy effects they add to it. That was true of Green Hill Zone. To an extent. Play the second zone (I forget the name) of Sonic the Hedgehog, and you'll see how wrong you are about that game. The difference is that the sequences of old Sonic games that weren't "hold right and jump" were just puzzle-solving, and they usually had bursts of speed throughout. The stuff we saw in that trailer was Sonic just blindly punching at a huge horde of enemies, which means that all the player is doing is pressing "Punch" over and over. Fun times. |

The HP bars of the enemies hit by the punches were zero. That's why the Sonic turns away from them. They were still there because the scene switches before they poof. If you mean Marble Zone, then you could do the same thing except for the two parts where you're riding on a block and lava is supposed to push you up towards the ledge. There's also another part that requires a lava push, but you can jump from the beginning of the part (after touching the moving block to make it move) to each of the "barriers" that you would jump over to land on the block again. Except you wouldn't need the block until the last barrier, because then you get the lava push. |
