We're a small community based on Super Smash Bros. Brawl. We have a ranking system, but it doesn't matter.

That's right, the rankings are like the Wii Remote Jacket: nobody cares.

If you're seeing this, that means you're a guest, which means you either haven't signed up or you haven't signed in. Unfortunately, we've had to disable guest posting, so if you want to contribute to our community, you'll need to have an account. If you make a new account with us, you'll be limited to posting in the Beginners forum. Once you make just one post there, you'll become a full-fledged member, and you can post wherever (and almost whatever) you want.

We look forward to brawling with you!

I've somewhat forsaken Pokemon at the moment, but just recently, a friend of mine told me that her friend has been internationally trading pokemon and breeding them for...personalities.

So, just wondering if anyone else does that >_> Seems tedious, personally.

Tediousness is part of why I stopped playing o_O

Well, yes, people do do that...

I myself have only bred specifically for a nature once... when I was getting a Feebas that liked Dry food (for Milotic's sake)

I breed for personalities, but only if I'll be using the Pokemon on my team. Even then, if it takes too long (which for me is quite a while, I'm very patient) I tend to give up and pick whichever baby had the best personality.

Certain 'Natures' give Pokemon boosts in certain stats. It's for making them stronger at Attacking or Defending or something. Only those hardcore people who know all about the Battling aspect of the game do that. If they're just playing to play, it's kinda silly.

I'm sure Vyse will be in here momentarily to denounce us all as infidels and begin to praise the gods of Tedious Stat Mechanics and the priests of Wi-Fi Pokemon Battling....

There's lots of things you can breed for, including natures. For natures, have the female parent hold the item "everstone" so that the nature is passed. As Doob said, for the stat boost. There's lots of websites that can help explain it too.

Seriously, though, breeding for natures is easy.

Breeding for natures is fairly easy... there's also breeding so a pokemon can utilize a specific move, which is also helpful.

i breed for stats, sometimes. Each pokemon grows differently (natures) and has different beginning stats and leveling abilities.

And I breed for shinies.

I'm still tryin to get a shiny charmander
