Wish I could show ya what it looks like from the few laptop monitors I've tested it on, but... with the issue at hand... and sort of digital image is kind of out of the question. |

As for the Metal Gear theme, I picked up a copy of MGS2 at a flea market recently and I've got a few ideas. I'll try them out this weekend. |

See that yellow that tells you the forum route? (Global Smash Forum -> News & Newbies, etc.) Use that instead of the blue. It should be good for the text field when posting, the actual text in the forum, and some other things. Plus, less colors means a more concentrated theme, no?

OK, thanks to Ender's banners, I've been inspired to get back to work on these. A few updates: 1. Mario, ReBoot, and Zelda all have their own banners, all of which are awesome. Many thanks to Ender for these.  2. The Zelda theme now has custom topic icons. 3. GSF, Mario, and Zelda all have new icons to indicate forums with unread posts on the board index. (GSF has a new icon for the redirect forum, too.) And I'll be getting to work on the next skin (Metroid or Sonic) tomorrow. Edited by Memento Mori, Sep 19 2008, 09:44 PM.

Well, the Sonic theme is done. I can't say I particularly like it, though. It just feels... off. Not what I envisioned when I first started making it. Any suggestions for improving this would be appreciated and attempted. Adding to my discontent is the total lack of usable images of Sonic items. So, for now, this theme keeps the GSF theme's set of icons. If anyone comes across good images of rings, a spring, a Chaos Emerald (preferably the green one), the Dr. Robotnik monitor from Sonic 3, the flame shield monitor from Sonic 3 (or, even better, Sonic doing the Flame Rush), or an extra life monitor, please post them. I'm getting the feeling that I'm gonna have to get an emulator and rip them myself. But yeah, it's more or less done.... |

Funny story: Google Image searching for the shields from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 turned up Sonic porn within five pages. And that's with Safe Search on. I'm still looking for the shields. ...by the way, in case you now want to go searching for that, it's not good by any standards. Don't waste your time. You sicko. |

OK! That horrible yellow is gone, replaced with a much softer color. Also, all the images were found, thanks to The Spriter's Resource. I'm much happier with it now. |

Well, I know from experience to not even try yellow, which would have been a perfect fit... I'll try this, though, thanks. Green... Not sure where it came from, but Doob and I thought of it simultaneously. Maybe something to do with Green Greens... I also considered purple, for a bit of Meta Knight rep. |

Yellow's a great color when used right. With layouts though, you mostly want colors that are close together and not too contrasting, so it's not absurdly distracting and hard on the eyes... Also it helps to use a graphics program (even MS paint can work) to preview 'em together. |
