Alright, I've tossed around the idea of doing a comic for the website. I've almost nearly decided to go through with it, the last shred of convincing I need will come from you, the site itself. This will not be a comic about Brawl. Brawl WILL play a part, but it's not what the comic is about. No, my friends, the comic....is about the site itself. Ike and Wolf and Link are not the characters in this comic. You are. That's right, the members of the site are the only characters we'll have. Well...maybe guest characters too, occasionally. I've already started character designs on a few of you, but now is your chance to influence how that goes. Any suggestions or ideas, can go here. I don't know how fruitful they'll be, as I've said I've yet to decide on a DEFINITE go ahead for this project, but with your help I should make up my mind soon enough. So, if anyone would like to influence how your 'character' may look, go right ahead and throw stuff out. If you...eheh...trust in my creative abilities, you can let me just make what I will... Also, if you wish to not be in the comic, that is fine too. Just let me know. (Although...I'd like to have all the active members appear in it. Some of your personalities are great for comic characters)... Bear in mind, I have a sort of...very specific style to my drawins (cel shaded, cartoony..) so it may not be what you expect (or like). But I'll try my best. Also, the premise seems a bit iffy to me. A comic about a bunch of people playing Brawl seems without body. I'm sure I could half ass it that way, but I'd like more meaning. SO. I thought maybe I'd write it as, instead, about the members of the site in the setting of an office building. Maybe as a group of writers for an internet blog about gaming or something (think Kotaku)....this is, again, a very bare idea that I just came up with, so again I make a call out; Suggestions and Ideas are Welcome! If you have a setting you think would be good, I'll take it into consideration. I'll be updating this with info and samples as soon as they're made up. Don't expect any fully made comics for awhile...I'm in the preliminary planning stages, so there will be a long wait until actual fully done polished comics are produced. Edited for new pics. This is Doob. He's a new employee at local video game/comic book/movie store. He's been having trouble lately keeping a steady job, mostly because he finds most work to be either nauseatingly boring with decent pay, or disgustingly complex with cheap pay. He's an amiable enough fellow, usually steering clear of drama. He every once in awhile like the rest of us, but it's usually never serious or lasts too long. He's got a strange fascination with jokes and puns, and a real desire to make others laugh...however sometimes it gets a little misconstrued. He's not quite sure what to make of the store at first. Will he be able to adapt?  This fine looking fellow is the day shift manager, Vyse. At first glance, you might think he looks a little stuck up, bossy, and unfun, but when you get to know him....you find out he's stuck up, bossy, no fun, AND a snazzy dresser! Just look at that ascot! That's flair! Sometimes the workers get a bit out of control (That'll happen with ninjas, lasers, otakus, and one cashier with anger issues), so someone has to keep things under wraps. Hey, it's a tough job, but someones got to do it....otherwise the owners of the Bed, Bath, and Beyond next door might start complaining. Edited by Doob Zurz, Jul 1 2008, 10:52 AM.

Yea, I could see that working. I like that. I'll have to see... Ok, BS is next.  Enter BS. BS is the local tough guy. There's two rules about BS. 1. Don't Mess with BS. And 2. Don't Mess with BS. I mean, seriously. He has swords. Do you? I hope not...cause it's against office policy, and Vyse'll chew you out. BS gets away with it though...cause honestly, look at him. Anyway, BS is an important member of group, and you'd do best to remember that. Arguing, procrastinating, and laying down his law are a few of his favorite things to do...and that's all before the lunch break. Make no mistake though, BS gets his job done....whatever that is. He's reluctant to say what he actually DOES to any of the other members, but if he's been around this long he's obviously doing it right. BS, unlike most tough guys in media, does NOT have a secret tough guy weakness. Pulling out cute things like kittens and stuff won't delay his wrath. He DOES however have a strange fascination with unusual and unappealing ties. Several of the members think this may be his own way of protesting Vyse's strict work attire rules, but maybe BS just has odd fashion choices. He also likes to challenge people to duels, namely those who disagree with him. Most of the members ignore his strange challenges. To date, only one such duel has actually taken place, against member Kuro-Chan. The duel was unseen by any, except the two combatants, unfortunately. It was over in minutes, and neither fighter has said what exactly happened during it...to this day it remains a piece of GSF mystery, and office lore. These are way too fun... Zeke is next, since no one else has come by... |

 This is....hey...wait...what happened to Zeke's face?! Well...that's Zeke, the second and far more enigmatic part of the double trouble boss duo, for you. While Vyse's hands-on approach definitely gets immediate results, in the long run they're mostly pointless. As soon as the boss is out of view the members are back to slacking off, zoning out, and generally shirking their duties. Thats when Zeke comes in. A few inter office memos here, a few lay offs there, and soon the productivity in the place is sky rocketing...at the expense of morale. Not many people have seen Zeke, apart from Vyse, but there have been occasions....of course...most of these people didn't live past a week. The local sketch artist, Doob, down in the Art department has mentioned meeting him on occasion. Of course...he also mentions that him and Zeke are 'Boi's.' Yea...with an I and everything...so, yenno...what good is his word? Despite the fact that Zeke is (as it SEEMS) detached from the office, you can't deny that his subtle influences haven't made their impact. The business runs smoothly, the clients are happy, and the workers are...well...working. Seems all is nice, simple, and easy for Zeke....or is it? This may seem to be the case, but then once you dig a little deeper and find out that Zeke is really planning t---- We're sorry. This post has violated code 1337 of the GSF Codes of Conduct. Another idea for Zeke's character could be the "crazy scientist" archetype. You know, like the scientist in Back to the Future. Gah, what's his name... I mean, your character is fine, but this might be something worth exploring a bit. |

XD, if you want to do my character design, let me be the cutesy/punk/wannabe goth girl. Since I almost always dress cutesy/punk/wannabe goth and listen to songs that'll give you cavities and diabeties if you listen to it for too long or listen to death metal. (Huge difference there XD;; ) I could also sketch my own design then you can implement it into your style. Whatever you feel is better. |
