Okay, so we have a small selection of stages from Melee. Which is nice, and certainly better than the ones from 64 that were in Melee (where they basically chose the three that least deserved to return... where's my Saffron City and Hyrule Castle?) But, how do you feel about the ones they chose? Here's my take on it: Rainbow Cruise - While I like this stage and it's one of the better moving stages, I think Peach's Castle should've came back instead. It seems just wrong to have a Smash Bros. without it. Also, Classic Mushroom Kingdom I might've been nice to have, especially for the platforms which were the best way to gauge character weights. One thing I do miss as well are the two MK songs; I think MKI should've been on Mushroomy 1-1, and MKII on Delfino. Jungle Japes - Hmm, I'm not sure on this one. Both stages were okay but not great (DK doesn't get much good when it comes to stages; where's my Gangplank Galleon?! We even have the theme for it!). To be honest, I didn't really mind which of the two came back, but this has the Cranky and Klaptrap cameos in it, so that's good. Hyrule Temple - Well, being one of the most (in)famous Melee stages, this was an obvious choice to come back. However, Great Bay would've been nice, when you consider that swimming would've drastically changed the stage (you can now swim in Jungle Japes - not that it does you much good). I guess it's the right choice. This is the only Melee stage that actually gets a new song... but I wish Saria's Song came back, possibly on Pirate Ship. Brinstar - This was a mistake. Brinstar Depths should've been the returning stage. It has the more unique layout, and the Kraid cameo. And we have a new 'rising acid/lava' stage, we don't need an old one! Yoshi's Island (Melee) - Despite technically being a Mario stage with Yoshi's Icon, this was the right stage to come back. I liked this stage's layout better than Yoshi's Story, it has two classic music themes on it, the new YI is closer to Yoshi's Story, and SMW deserves it more. The only thing regretful is that they didn't bring back the old Yoshi's Story music, as it would've fit on Brawl's YI. Green Greens - While quite a few would disagree with me, I think this was the right choice. While Fountain of Dreams was a popular stage, it was pretty much a fancy Battlefield with a nice Gourmet Race Remix (which is now on Green Greens). More importantly, Green Greens represents Kirby better. If Halberd and FoD were the two Kirby stages, it wouldn't have anything that truly suits Kirby; Halberd is clearly Meta Knight's stage, and FoD is from one game, and while it would suit Dedede, so does Green Greens. Corneria - Either stage would've been fine with me, but Corneria is better for the better stage layout and the special taunts. Pokemon Stadium - This one I'm not certain about. PS goes well with PS2 (... wait a minute... that doesn't sound right), but Poke Floats was just plain awesome. Heck, every Pokemon stage in Smash Bros. is awesome. I'm just glad they brought back all three Pokemon themes from Melee (especially since Battle Theme is the only G/S/C song, and Poke Floats is the one song alongside Route 1/Viridian City that is specifically from R/B/G/Y/FR/LG and not just a common Pokemon theme) Big Blue - The right choice, IMO. Mute City was kind of bland, IMO; Port Town is all-around superior to it. Big Blue showcases various F-Zero racers, and it introduced the Falcon Flyer. Plus, Bunny Hood Sonic outracing F-Zero Racers = win. Onett - This is another tough choice, but ultimately I think Onett is the best choice. Like Green Greens, Onett represents Ness best. We already have a big city in NPC. That being said, I would've been fine with Fourside coming back, too. One thing that does annoy me, however, is the fact that they removed the Fourside theme, alongside all that other Mother music. Seriously, there are no songs in that actually originate from Earthbound now! For the rest... Flat Zone 2 is superior to the first Flat Zone, and nobody really liked Icicle Mountain. Plus, it wouldn't be fair for them to have two stages, yet Fire Emblem having only one. Again, I would've liked one of the two Classic Mushroom Kingdom stages to return. As for Battlefield and FD, well... we kinda have new version of them, so no big loss. So, that's just my view on it all. |

Final Destination should have been brought back... What's that? It was? No no, see, that's 'Curving Edges of Doom Destination.' You know...with the edges that make sure you can't recover. Nothing at all like FD. |

Neither Metroid stage was worth bringing back, IMO. There's nothing about Brinstar that Norfair doesn't do better (though we really didn't need this kind of level at all), and Brinstar Depths was just a terrible stage. Rarely do you actually get to fight while on this stage, as you are subject to Kraid's every whim. I'm OK with Corneria over Venom, but I don't particularly like how they changed the knockback on the Arwings' lasers. I'm really glad Temple's back, as it provides a much-needed alternative to the huge mass of awful that is NPC. I'm glad that Pokemon Stadium is back for a similar reason: neither new Pokemon stage is good for a serious fight. Poke Floats would have been fine, too. Jungle Japes gives DK a playable stage. Seriously. Green Greens was one of my favorite stages. FoD is pretty, but that's all it had over Battlefield. Battlefield has better music now, anyway. I don't like that the cars in Onett no longer mean instant death, but besides that, I'm fine. The others I have no opinion on. |

Onett means Mother 2, and that's all I love about the old stages picked. Everything else is mediocre or below. |

I feel I should point out that while Sonic, the fastest character, needs a Bunny Hood to outpace the Big Blue racers on the ground... the slowest characters in the game can easily keep up with them in the air. Seems a bit odd to me. |

You like Mother 2? Awesome. You should listen to the version with vocals. And play Mother 2. >:O |

Wow... so anyway... the best stage is obviously Corneria. It's such a classic stage, so it's amazing. They just couldn't get rid of it. |

Dunno why, but I just really like the two Melee Earthbound stages (NOT NPC). And I agree with BS, Pollyanna (aka 'Mother 2 (Melee)') is awesome. |

What takes the cake for me is Jungle Japes. I love the DK stages. But I sorely miss the DK stage for the N64
. I thought that was the coolest stage of all smash bros stages. I dont know why, I guess because I love the awsome background music. It sounds so calm and relaxing while you fight in the jungle at sundown.
