We're a small community based on Super Smash Bros. Brawl. We have a ranking system, but it doesn't matter.

That's right, the rankings are like the Wii Remote Jacket: nobody cares.

If you're seeing this, that means you're a guest, which means you either haven't signed up or you haven't signed in. Unfortunately, we've had to disable guest posting, so if you want to contribute to our community, you'll need to have an account. If you make a new account with us, you'll be limited to posting in the Beginners forum. Once you make just one post there, you'll become a full-fledged member, and you can post wherever (and almost whatever) you want.

We look forward to brawling with you!

My strategy with random is to always keep your opponent guessing as to who you're going to be. That's a good thing because if they knew who I was going to play, they'd pick a character that's perfect for killing off my person. But Random is a double-edged knife. It not only keeps my opponent on their feet, but me as well. I have to try and get decent (at least) with every character and know each of their controls and how to utilize them correctly. But then again, this also makes me rather unpredictable with characters I'm not used to. Anyone else like to add to the ups and downs of this strategy?

Well, like you said it keeps your opponent on edge, and you might end up with a character that's really bad for them. However, if you're only good with every character, then someone who specializes in a single character will have the advantage, so long as their character isn't bad against yours.

EDIT: Whoops, forgot to log off. This is Yaypenguins on TheCount's account.

Hm, I never really found knowing who your opponent's character is gonna to be as helpful. Sounds like tier material to me.

See, to me, that's the great thing about maining Pokemon Trainer; while it's a bit more limited than Random, it has the advantage of three different playstyles, meaning my opponent cannot use the same strategy to fight all of them.

I have to agree with Pyrex; the main problem with maining random is that you have to be good with everyone, which makes it a problem to be great with someone.

Yeah, that is a problem that I know of. I am actually great with at least 7 of the characters, and am only good with all the other characters except for maybe 2 or 3, which I utterly fail at. I'm trying to change that so I am great with at least 10 characters and bad only at 2 characters, so my chances of getting a good character for me is much greater. -nods- Just need to practice more and more and get their movesets down. Ike's and Marth's are especially awkward for me to use, even though I can win with them if I really crack down on it. ><;;
