We're a small community based on Super Smash Bros. Brawl. We have a ranking system, but it doesn't matter.

That's right, the rankings are like the Wii Remote Jacket: nobody cares.

If you're seeing this, that means you're a guest, which means you either haven't signed up or you haven't signed in. Unfortunately, we've had to disable guest posting, so if you want to contribute to our community, you'll need to have an account. If you make a new account with us, you'll be limited to posting in the Beginners forum. Once you make just one post there, you'll become a full-fledged member, and you can post wherever (and almost whatever) you want.

We look forward to brawling with you!

Things I need to work on; (That I know of...)

So, after being beaten a few times by people clearly better than me, I've realized that there a few things I can do to improve my game. I'm not bitter or anything (anymore) -- after all, losing is supposed to make you better.

Grabbing more. I don't grab enough, especially with Toon Link. I just don't. I especially need to work on shieldgrabbing. On instinct, I dodge when I think an attack is coming, but if I can learn to press just R, I can grab and (hopefully) combo my opponents. Of course, I would need to mix it up.

Edgeguarding. By this I mean meeting your opponent in midair and basically making it impossible for him/her to recover. The object of the game is to get your opponent off the stage. As such, edgeguarding is key. I've always been wary of doing it, because it's so risky, but if I can get the hang of it, it'll be really useful. I've already done it a few times, but I can't do it consistently.

Unpredictability. Old habits die hard. I've noticed that I do some things like clockwork, most notably the PK Fire -> dash grab pattern with Ness. I need to make an effort to do different things, keep my opponents on edge.

So that's my little list. Almost all of you have played against me before, so if you've noticed anything else that could use improvement, please let me know. I'm especially interested in hearing about other patterns that I follow.

Double jumping after you've been hit. I don't remember if you've done it often, but I've seen way too many people do it. Even I get irritated when I get that Forward-A aerial with Ike over and over because I can predict that.

I do tend to do that with Toon Link. Gives me time to pull out a bomb. But yeah, that could be changed.

You seem to counter a lot with Marth. If you keep countering then it gets predictable and your opponent will just grab you instead.

I definitely need to work on dodging more. I just roll around like a maniac most of the time, which leaves me wide open.

I also need to work on recovery, too. Sometimes, I just can't seem to sweetspot the edge, especially with Zelda.

Well, I've gotten shieldgrabbing more or less down. The other stuff, not so much.

Polt, we've played several matches. Any thoughts on things I could improve?

Work on your edge-guarding, and stop being so predictable!

I swear, everytime I launched you high, you always d-air back down, in which I dodge, then set up a smash attack when you land.

Gah, I couldn't seem to make myself stop doing that.

There were... some times when I didn't, though.

You get flustered easy. After that Over B spike that we've mentioned, when you respawned you attacked wildly for a few minutes. I do that too though...most people do... But hey, I think it's valid thing to work on.

If I'm still alive I myself start to become more aggressive.... perhaps I should work on that.
