Intense show, very intense.
Anyone care to discuss some things about it?? There's a lot of discrepency in what the show actually is trying to get across and so on

WOA, I just got like, the whole series and I JUST SAT down to watch them...

You....you're very good, you....almost....TOO good. <_<*

Anyway, I've only seen a few, and I don't really know much about it...I'm watching it now in Japanese with subtitles, and I think it actually does a better job at explaining things...or maybe it's because I've never seen the first episodes before... I'll have more to say about it when I finish the series though... :)

Hmmm...Personally, I found that the English Dub was actually quite good, opposed to the norm where Dubs are absolutely unacceptable, I believe there are 3 exceptions:
1. Full Metal Alchemist (Noone can deny it, Ed's voice actor is a god)
2. Cowboy Bebop
3. Evangelion

But yah, once you get further into the series, you'll see what I'm talking about when it gets super complicated and you'll be like "WTF?!!?"
It took me a good 3 times through the entire series to fully understand what was going on, and even now I'm still a little lost. But nonetheless!!!!! An excellent show!!! =D

Oh yea, up there with the best of em in the giant robot department. And I AM fond of the English version, and if I could have found it I'd have preferred it. I'm just noting that I seem to understand what's going on better now that I can read what everyone is saying...maybe it's the choice of words or just that they talk a bit too fast in the english one. Course, I watch all my movies with the subtitles on...you pick up things you mighta missed without em.

Even though I've only seen a few, NGE is up there on my favorites list...along with Gundam (more fond of G Gundam and 8th MS Team than the others *waits to be argued with about that*) and TT Gurren-Lagann. Other favorites don't include robots, so I'll keep those to myself..

I'll have to get my hands on Full Metal Alchemist too...I've seen a few (curse my busy nights when it was on Adult Swim...) but overall I don't know much about the story..

Full Metal Alchemist is by far my favorite. While it does go on for about 52 episodes, I don't necessarily consider it to be as egregious as Bleach or Inuyasha, or DBZ by going on for 10,000 and counting episodes. FMA has an awesome story, and some crazy twists and turns along the way. PLUS some of the BEST characters I've ever seen. I believe 100% of all FMA fans will agree with me when I say that Maes Hughes is just a purely awesome guy, and Roy Mustang is a BAMF. I mean the character development is so amazing I just...it's...you know =D =D =D =D =D =D
I could go on for days about how amazing it is, but I shall refrain =)

I know what you mean about DBZ, Inuyasha and Bleach...though I can't really blame it on Bleach as much as the people in charge of it...the story (while quite similar to Yu Yu Hakusho) is fine as long as it's based off the books...when they start making stuff up off the top of their head to give the writer more time, then it gets bad. (The third Arch I think it is...it doesn't really fit well...)

And how many episodes does One Piece have? 300 something? Haven't seen hardly any of that either... Madness. Bleach has a bout 150, but I don't even count that 3rd arch...and I don't even KNOW how many DBZ has...

From what I saw of FMA, I liked the funny guy who talked about his daughter alot (I think that was Hughes..) and the muscley guy. Mustang's the one with the fire, right? I have a shirt that says 'BAMF' on it...when people ask I just say it's a comic book sound effect...BUT WE KNOW THE TRUTH, AMIRTE?

I'm also quite fond of the Tenchi Muyo series...that was the first anime I ever saw I think...back on Toonami a long time ago.

XD I REMEMBER TENCHI MUYO!!!! XD I used to LOVE that show!!!
Oh and yah, the one who talks about his daughter all the time is Hughes, hes amazing, and the musclely guy is Lt. Armstrong, he's pretty funny too =D.

And I would agree, I love Bleach's story, I just can't always keep up with it because there's so many episodes. I usually like to keep to shows with 20-25 episodes. In some great cases, 6, just like FLCL, and 14 like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

:) I have all the Tenchi ones on DVD...and FLCL...and I'll probably get TT Gurren-Lagann when it comes out... I wish I could just ignore the 3rd arch in Bleach, but they keep bringing it up!

Is that Melancholy one good? I've seen it so many places but I haven't looked at it before..

It's actually quite amazing, although you have to watch it in a certain order since they released it out of order for some reason :/ it's kinda weird, but it's an awesome show and I really like the animation style for it too

Hmm whenever you're done with Eva, I'd start with Melancholy, seeing as how it's only 14 episodes =D =D =D

I watched it in the order they released it, and it still made sense to me. You just need to know which episodes are more plot-driven so that when an important plot point comes up, you remember the past episode that corresponds with it.

And Realitylapse is a good place for those episodes and plenty more.

I would agree, but ep. 14 HAS to be last, not number 9 as the order suggests, and ep. 1 HAS to go after 7, not first because it makes almost 0 sense

That's actually pretty close to the opening. There was one part that I didn't think was in the Eva opening, though.

Anyway, Eva is the only angsty anime that I actually like. Not so hot on the robots part, but the way they developed the characters was brilliant. I especially loved the ending episodes.

I apologize for being a typical...well...teenage male, I spose. (Or maybe I'm just stupid...highly possible! :D) NGE was good, but honestly, alot went over my head. I'd probably have to watch it quite a few times to get everything out of it... I prefer TTGL, only because I like action. Action rules. Action AND comedy rule.

I DO understand that it's supposed to be more about the characterization and the psychological aspect of the characters, and NOT about the action. I'm not trying to compare the two...that would be silly of me. I'm just more of a fan of action, I guess.....geez, this is really hard to explain without me sounding like an idiot. 'Durr, this show sucks, cause liek, all they do is talk and cry durr.' That's really not what I'm trying to say...I like NGE. The action, that DID occur, was really well done. I probably will burn it to a DVD so I can watch it again sometime. Just right now, after an initial run through of the series, out of 10 I'd give it a 7. Which is by no means 'bad'. I'm positive after I've been through it a few more times and understand it all better, I'd raise that number... Oh, and the last episode (I think it's the last...it's the one where nothing is...really happening, fecal matters just flying around and people are talking the whole time, and I think it it's all in his head) just gave me headaches...too much self psychoanalysis.

...I guess now I move on to Gundam SEED.

You should watch Eureka 7 imo-*shot*

fyi, Gundam seed is more about characters and plot than battles

Also Im not interested in this series BECAUSE of how stupidly "meaningful" its supposed to be

Then again I heard eureka 7 is a bit similar to it but eh

Eureka 7 is the one with the green haired chick, right? I think I saw the 2nd episode at one point, and that was it. I'll add it to the list.
