Hm, looks like you're catching up on your anime while your Wi-Fi is out, huh? Anyways, this will probably be my next series to watch. I haven't been watching much anime lately =/ |

No, I watched it like....a couple months ago. Just making a topic about it now because its awesome. =( I can't log on AIM because of some stupid update that I need a computer administrator to approve(I lost admin after I got three different types of spyware on my comp...) So Ive been bored and watching anime. Watching Hajime no Ippo atm. Anyways, Eureka 7 is great. Its by the FMA studio if that means anything. Its more like Gundam SEED than Gurren-Lagann(as in realistic robots rather than Galaxy sized ones) |

I probably won't get to any anime until mid-May (when I update my Naruto/Bleach lineuo), so hopefully Realitylapse won't explode into fiery HTML or something. |

Pretty much. Naruto and Bleach have finally reached their interesting points, so I'm holding off on the once-a-month update and skipping April >_> The first week of May will be chaos, so that's a no-go. |

Oh. Usually while I watch an ongoing series, I watch something else while I wait... I can't do that anymore because I'm using a lot of bandwidth so I have to pick my series more carefully So...no one has watched this? |

Eh, double post. I gotta say-what I really like about this series is how we see it though Renton's perspective. He narrates his thoughts and the way he sees things to us. Renton, at the beginning of the series, is extremely innocent and doesn't understand whats going on, and this childish view of the situation made the series much more interesting. I mean, as anyone whos watched it would know--the series deals with mass genocide, racism, and a lot of other things a child wouldn't understand, and as the series goes on and he grows into an adult...you see his world shattered. His childishness and innocence is also points of hilarity thoughout the series-like when hes caught looking at pornography, or the crew performs pranks on him. lol. I also like how it took him a long time to pilot the Nirvash-it didnt come naturally like a lot of other heroes(Kira, for example.) Another interesting point is how throughout the series, Renton never really does anything he can't do or would be better handled by an adult. I mean, if you look, Holland takes care of the Adult stuff, while Renton focuses on protecting Eureka and doing what he CAN do. He never even meets the main antagonist, which I thought was a neat touch. Renton is one of the best leads ive seen in a long time because of that anyone else like him? fyi BS i think the eps on realitylapse are the dub Though the Japanese version is superior trust me ive watched both |

I've caught a few episodes on Adult Swim. It's not my type of anime, really. I have no idea why Lagann is my type, but Eureka isn't (maybe it's because I usually dislike fighting robot animes?). If I do like a fighting robot anime, it isn't mainstream. I believe my brother has found quite a few fighting robot animes that I really like that a lot of people haven't heard about. And usually I don't like mainstream anime anyway with a few exceptions. And yes, I know that the series is more than fighting robots. I've watched quite a few episodes to get enough of an idea of whether I like it or not. I don't like the main boy character that much, and dislike the Eureka even more. I just don't like those type of characters, truthfully. It seems to me that Eureka is angsting too much for me. |

Yeah- I was gonna say, Eureka 7 focuses a lot more on characters, plot and hilarity rather than mecha battles. That being said, the fights are always amazingly well animated and are a blast to watch. Renton is, in my opinion, easily one of the best anime leads ever. Its because of his amazing development(really, hes a completely different person at the end). Its just...so interesting to see a story that basically heavily concerns genocide, racism and the like through a child's perspective. For a lot of it, he really has no idea whats going on and makes his own assumptions...plus we see his thoughts all the time...it was just really well done. Plus hes hilarious xD Renton is pretty angst free, except when certain characters die. I don't know if you know who I mean or not. >_> I liked how the series also had an "anti" renton and eureka so to speak-Dominic and Anemone. Seriously, they're like the exact opposite of Renton and Eureka, and they're interesting too. The episodes that focus on them are always great. I'm trying to recall when Eureka angsts... I know she does a few times, but for the most part, shes pretty upbeat and supportive of Renton. |

Then I guess the episodes I watched were one of the times where she angsts. It still doesn't seem like an anime that's right for me. I usually either watch sports anime or cutesy anime, school-based anime, or transformation animes. Or any mixture of the four. I don't like fighting animes that much unless I really like the characters, like in Lagann. |

Eureka 7......*shudders* I hated this anime..... Renton is just such an idiot. I don't even find him funny he's just painful to watch. I never really got the plot of the whole thing, it just sort of randomly jumped from one rather normal one to that other one near the end. |

Sorry Giga, just my opinion. I just always found their machines (can't remember what they're called) to be cheap GUNDAM rip-offs. Renton's mecha will never compare to the Freedom. |

Okay, I'm renaming this show to Tales of Destiny 2. Renton = Kyle Eureka = Reala Linck (LINK!), Maeter, and Maurice = children from Dunamis orphanage Holland = Loni/Judas (IMO, only reason to watch the first half of this series, just as Judas is the only reason I can stand replaying the first half of ToD2 =D Coincidence? I thinketh not! As for the Loni part, it's mostly because of the big bro relationship he has with Renton) Talho = Rutee (Maybe? Safest fit, but obviously this wouldn't be literal, as Judas would've....yeah...) Stoner = Nolan (If you can't see Stoner saying "Doom and gloom," I want a 5-page, double spaced essay of how they are any different) Yeah, that last one was a joke, but I'm getting eerie ToD2 vibes from this show... As for my actual opinion, I'm going to say that this is THE slowest anime I've ever watched. You don't build up the show for 20-some frikkin episodes, jeez. If you want to enjoy it, have patience. Lots of it. No, seriously, there should be like a truckload of it sitting next to you. Episode 39 was filler. 'Nuff said. One more thing... EUREKAAAAAAAAA! REALAAAAAAAAAA! LEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNN! KUREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! |
