I'm positive that I have found the fastest way to do this with every character except Bowser, because Bowser sucks. Here we go: -Just as a couple of guidelines, make sure you know what aerial attack is best for a quick hit. That move will be vital for knocking off anywhere from 2-4 seconds you'd normally use with other, slower moves. An example of a quick hit move would be like Pikachu's aerial Up-A or Fox's aerial Neutral-A. -You'll be using the Fireworks Launcher at the top, to the right of the Home Run Bat. I'd advise knowing how to aim with it, but it's not entirely necessary as there are plenty of shots. -Learning how to tap down to fall faster and then immediately tapping left/right to run is important as well. Okay, as soon as you start, jump to hit the target with that aerial move I talked about already. As soon as you hit the ground, DASH LEFT. You'll know that you're doing well so far if you can dodge the Poison Mushroom without trouble (Ganondorf and Bowser are the only characters I used that had to roll instead of run). Hit the two targets while going up the slope with a short hop and that aerial move, or Capt. Falcon can use his dash attack. Hop up to the first platform (not along the wall), and dash right until you can jump up to hit another target. Then go towards the Fireworks Launcher. Make sure you are facing LEFT when you pick it up, then backpedal while hitting the target above you and above the Home Run Bat. Quickly turn to the right and BLAST like crazy at around a 30 degree angle so that you can hit the target on the far right from that platform, as well as the two other targets. Then run off that platform towards the last target, drop right under it, and toss the Launcher at it, ending the game. The amazing thing about this is that my fastest time came with a character I had yet to use: Wolf. That's right; this was my first time using him, and I got 0:14:45 without even resetting. Second fastest was Sonic at 0:15:45, just because he's ridiculously fast on that slope in the beginning. So yeah, this strategy wins. >_> |

Say, that's a pretty good strategy...I did the Target Tests the other day, and my fastest on TT 2 was 17 seconds with Fox... This shaved off quite a few seconds.

I'm working on Target Smash 5. Apparently, there's a nick trick to timing your approach to the pseudo-staircase of platforms. The targets are probably the most fun out of all of the solo stuff I've done so far. Having the same stage for everyone is a bit disappointing, but I'm having more fun than I did in Melee. |

Though I'm terrible with him, Sonic was pretty good for number 5... I've beaten the set time limits for them all on the challenge blocks, now it's just a matter of beating them all with every character, which is such a chore... |

Any character with a special that drops something straight down is ideal for number 5; Sonic's up special in the air and Snake's down special both work. Makes that bottom-left target so much easier to hit. |

Actually, you don't even need those moves. If you hit the target above that one without double jumping, use another quick move like Sonic's Aerial A, double jump, and then use a recovery move, it works just as well. Then you don't waste as much time going counterclockwise to hit those two targets to the left of the pseudo-staircase. |

I don't go counterclockwise. After Sonic's up special, I return to the starting platform, going clockwise. Not time-consuming at all. |

*slaps forehead* That's the way I meant. Clockwise. I always get those mixed up >_> But yeah, if you just drop and then spring to the edge to the right of that floating target, it's faster than going back up. |

Alright, implementing a vital strategic move thanks to 47drift's play, I've lowered my Wolf score from 0:14:45 to 0:10:25 for Target Smash 2. Here's how you do it: -Start by double jumping and hitting the target with Wolf's aerial Back-A. Use the quick fall method to shorten time. -Double jump again to reach that ledge, and then double jump towards the target above you. Use his aerial Up-A to hit the target at the top of the second jump and land on the ledge directly below the target. -THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP. Dash to the left and let yourself run off of the ledge...double jump so that you will be on the same horizontal plane as the target in front of you and hit it with the aerial Back-A attack. Timing this hit is important so that you can still make the ledge. -Hit the box with the forward tilt. Make sure you don't accidentally pick it up. -Still facing the box's direction, double jump to the Fireworks Launcher. Pick it up, and proceed with the proper blasting I mentioned in my first post. If you want to actually see this, I have the replay of my first successful try of this (0:10:83). |
