We're a small community based on Super Smash Bros. Brawl. We have a ranking system, but it doesn't matter.

That's right, the rankings are like the Wii Remote Jacket: nobody cares.

If you're seeing this, that means you're a guest, which means you either haven't signed up or you haven't signed in. Unfortunately, we've had to disable guest posting, so if you want to contribute to our community, you'll need to have an account. If you make a new account with us, you'll be limited to posting in the Beginners forum. Once you make just one post there, you'll become a full-fledged member, and you can post wherever (and almost whatever) you want.

The Link tournament is open only to players of Link/Toon Link, while the Luigi tournament is open only to Luigi. The winner of each tournament will receive as a prize, the title of Green Beret Link and Green Beret Luigi, respectively. These two players are recognized as the best GSF Link and Luigi users, and represent the GSF on any other forums. The tournaments are Elimination format. The entry method is Open. Sure, they're similar, with the sole exception of Mario being a better character, but it still doesn't make sense, as the title pronounces the best Luigi player, not the best Mario player.

If Toon Link and Link are different enough to be considered different characters, which I assume is the general consensus, it's strange that we are then including two characters into a character specific tourney... If what you guys say about Toon Link being 1000x better than Link is true, then anyone who plays normal Link is a bit handicapped (we're getting into tiers on that, which I don't believe in, so we'll keep that argument short). But then to counter that, no one will use Link and it'll turn into a Toon Link tournament. This is all just my two sense...feel free to disregard it...

But now that I've discovered that T. Link is actually better, I use him instead. Basically, what I'm getting at is the same thing that Doob has already suggested: It's a Toon Link tournament now, not Link. Zeke made the topic, not me. I was just trying to go along with what he said. I'm kinda tired of us contradicting each other all the time.

If Toon Link is really that much better, then no one will even bother using Link. Perhaps there should be separate tournaments for Link and Toon Link, so we can determine the best with both? That being said, I'll sign up for both the Link and Luigi tourneys, though there's a small chance I might not be able to compete.

I encourage this. My reasoning for making them both eligible is this. First, they're both "Link". They may not be the same Link, but they're both Link. Toon Link isn't called Toon Link in his games, he's called Link. They only call him Toon Link here because the only other thing they can call him is Link, and there's already a Link. As such, I feel he should be counted under the name "Link". Second, "Green Beret Link" sounds better than "Green Beret Toon Link".
