OK, here's the sitch. GSF needs a logo. A proper logo, not the makeshift banner we have right now. I mean, it looks decent and all, but it's... bland. We need some spice. So here's my offer to all of you aspiring artists out there: Whether your medium is paint, pencil, or Photoshop, make us a logo. It can be a banner, or a circle, or a trapezoid, or a Mobius strip. Be creative. Be free. Make it however you think looks best, then post it here, e-mail it to me (m3ment0mori@hotmail.com) or Zeke (whatever his e-mail address is), or PM it to us. Just make sure it gets to one of us. I'm not sure what the prize will be, as I'll have to discuss it with Zeke first. Possibilities include a position as a mod, a custom title, or a guaranteed place in the first tournament (skipping the preliminaries). We'll see. Have fun, and I look forward to seeing your entries! Contest ends March 8th. |

Well, I managed to find my way to this site through someones's sig on the GameFaqs board (don't remember the name) and noticed you guys needed a logo. Whipped something quick up for you....not very good, didn't take too long on it. I have the file saved as PSD, so if anyone wants to make suggestions for changes, I can go back and do it better. ...Wow. That's pretty impressive. I like it. What few flaws I see can be fixed when you can spend a bit more time on it, I'm sure. Yeah, I like it. We'll have to see what Ezekiel thinks. As for suggestions... how would it look with a black background? |

I was going to go for a black background, but that Smash Ball has that funky blue/white/lilac aura thing going on, and that'd take some time to edit out, or make it work in a way that wouldn't look like a tacky MS Paint job. I'll start on a black bg one right now, don't know exactly when I can get it up. Nasty sociology class in the morning. But anyway, thanks. |

Hmmm.... I'm kinda toying with the idea of having the text blue, but I'd like to see how this black background turns out first... Anyway, glad you're up to it. |

All right then, black background, with the crazy aura-ness. I experimented with taking out the aura, but it really is quite hard to get it to look good without it. But if it's a big issue for you guys, I can take it out. Added more details to the overlayed globe, more emphasis on the energy trail things (only the ones that go across the planet), re-did the text differently (looks better in my opinion, but still not quite there....wish I could figure it out..) and made the text blue, but that can be changed easily. It's also slightly smaller, because I thought it was slightly too big for the page (can be changed) I've saved all the parts as individual PSD's so things can be easily changed, such as color, the texture of the metal, the text, etc etc. The final'll be a bit more cleaned up, unless you want more changes, in which case I'll keep doing drafts until a final. That's excellent work. Neither Zeke nor I can think of anything to add or change, so make whatever tweaks you want until you're satisfied. It's a bit too early to declare the contest over, but believe me, I wanted to do just that. I do want to see what else will be submitted..... |

Right-o then, one last revision, if you all are satisfied with it. Made the Smash Ball/Earth more bluish, taking out some of the random rainbow colors. Matches the font better that way IMO. Cleaned up some edges. Tweaked colors. Smaller still, around 432x432 pixels. Changeable if need be. That's about all. If you're satisfied with this, I'm satisfied with it. I'm sure someone will come along and make something better. To tell you the truth, I'm more of a cartoonist than a photoshopper. Only have photoshop because it came with my tablet. Much prefer Flash Mx....vectors are so much cleaner. But I thought I'd give this a whirl. Much appreciate the feedback....sometimes it's so hard communicating with someone when you're working on something for them. We're more than happy with this. This is fantastic. Also, if Photoshop isn't your main venue, the idea of what this would look like if it was.... But yeah, we are definitely satisfied with this. Also, I'm glad you like the place.  We'd be thrilled to have you around, that's for sure.
