OK, maybe "Adult Swim redeems itself" is a little harsh. But in all seriousness, Death Note is a kickass anime. For one thing, it is one of the most faithful animations I've ever seen. I mean, if you have the manga, you can follow along word-for-word and image-for-image. It's amazing. Of course, I'm not much of an anime/manga aficionado, so I don't really know if this is anything special. But it amazes me. What's more, this may be one of the rare cases in which the anime actually offers an improvement to the manga. They way the animators use music and light to highlight particular moments is top-notch. The words, the images, and the sounds all blend together to create an experience that is more than the sum of its parts. Seriously, a great show. |

Personally, I prefer the manga to the anime, for clarification of details and longer thought processes. Regardless, the anime is of stunning quality. |

...My respect for this show just dropped a few points. First there's the thing that I'm sure everyone will be making fun of: the chips. "BWA HA HA! I'll show you, L! I'm going to eat! I'm so clever." Then there's my own personal disappointment... Light's supposed to be a genius, yet he uttered the phrase, "between L and I." ...It's "between L and me." It's an object of a preposition, Light. C'MON. >_> |

DANGIT I MISSED THAT EPISODE but my friend told me about the chip eating. but hey...he can totally overdramatize anything if he wanted to BECAUSE HE'S GOD but it's true that the anime does follow the manga really well, and the animation is extremely superb. But I only know this cuz I'm an...otaku O_o not really. But I've seen some anime based off of manga and sometimes they screw things up on top of having animation that isn't as great as the original artwork...which is...annoying  anyway...I digress... |

It's a great Anime. My only real complaint is the last episode. I HATE the last episode. when you see the last episode, your respect for Light will probably go down the drain. |

Once again, genius Light uses "I" as the object of a verb. *sigh* Anyway, yeah, Light's, um.... He's a bit degraded, you know. It's worse in the manga, when every facial expression is there, on the paper, forever. |

I LOVE the last episode!! It's one of the most satisfying endings an anime could have! I mean, if I had the choice, I would have made the storyline go the other way, but the way they did it was just amazing, especially compared to other animes. And for everyone else, You'll absolutely hate what comes next in the series. I've been watching the adult swim one, too, and one of the best but most confusing and disappointing (as well as hilarious with the MisaMisa part) is coming up. DON'T MISS IT! |

im kinda happy its ending, it started spiraling downwards around the middle of the series, im still gonna love how this ending plays out though
