Proper Brawling Etiquette Before I start laying down the law, I'd like to thank you for visiting our site. We here at GSF hope you find great friends and fun rivals, and generally have fun playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl as part of a bigger community. However, there are certain behaviors which are not conducive to creating an enjoyable atmosphere. Thus, the rules below. Most of them are common sense, so there shouldn't be any problems, but sometimes a little reminder can be helpful. 1. Respect each other. That means no flaming. Don't mock avatars or sigs, don't ridicule music preferences, etc., so on and so forth. We all understand that sometimes arguments are necessary, and sometimes that n00b just needs to be put in his/her place, but try not to be vicious. 2. There is a flip side to #1. Don't try to incite flaming, either -- in other words, no trolling. We were all newbies once, but there is a distinct difference between asking an innocent, well-meaning question and being an idiot. Don't make controversial topics for laughs, don't beat dead horses... you get the picture. 3. Persistence is a virtue, but it can also be an annoyance. Rest assured that any request you make of the staff will be processed as quickly as possible. Also, if you PM someone to challenge him/her, do it once. The lack of an immediate response to your PMs or topics is not an indication that you have been ignored entirely. Give people time. Sadly, and contrary to any illusions you may have, you are not the center of the universe, and a message from you is not cause for us to drop everything and attend to whatever whim you may have. Seriously. If persistence is a virtue, patience is enough to qualify you for sainthood. And really, that should do it. Pretty much anything can be covered by #1. So long as you can respect one another, everything should grind along smoothly. |
