Intro stuff
Well, this is my first entry in this blog thing... I'll see if I like doing this or not.
Anyways, allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Ian Harris Mellett, but everyone (here, that is) calls me the Silver Dragoon. I was born in Edmonton, lived most of my life in Ottawa, and currently reside in Belleville, Ontario, with my mother and stepdad. My dad and stepmother are living in Peru at the moment. At the time I am writing this, I am in Halifax, visiting my aunt and sister. I'll talk more about that later.
I'd view myself as a center-left type of person politically; I'm a realist and know there is a time for fighting, but try to avoid it if not needed. I generally try to act nice to people around me, and am somewhat of a joker at times.
I'm a lifelong fan of video games, particularly Nintendo. I'm a fan of the classic franchises, such as Mario, Zelda, DK, and such, but I also like newer-style games as well. I own a Wii, PS2, GBA, GC and a DS (though the latter two are in Peru right now... I miss my Pokemon Pearl)
I met many of the GSFers on the Tales of Symphonia GameFAQs message board, particularly the Hero Party. We moves to H.E.R.O. later, but the bonds we all had stayed on to help make this site.
I also like writing for fun. I am working on a webcomic/fanfic (or 'webfic'), called 'Final Fantasy ?' (which will probably have a subtitle). While it says Final Fantasy, it's really about RPGs in general, though FF has the most influence. It stars a dysfunctional party as they fight the evils of the world, including the Valian Empire. It also helped create my alias, Ian Highwind, the Silver Dragoon. I'll talk more about this later.
